USTA School Tennis
USA School Tennis photoUSTA School Tennis is not meant to produce champions. It is meant to introduce the sport to kids who would not ordinarily belong to clubs and may not be able to afford lessons. That aim, as laid out by the late champion Arthur Ashe at the inception of the USTA School Tennis program in 1985, remains unchanged today.

But with increased resources, and the full support of the USTA, USTA School Tennis is reaching out to more kids, in more schools, than ever before. Since 1985, millions of kids in more than 22,000 schools have participated in the program. Participating schools receive free teacher training workshops conducted by USTA clinicians; free easy-to-use curricular materials; and free assistance in obtaining equipment including racquets and balls.

USTA staff will transform your school gym or playground into a tennis court, where students take part in a progressive series of drills and activities designed to develop basic tennis skills. Follow-up help in developing after-school and summer tennis programming is also available.
